What are hybrid cars? How hybrid technology works?

Let's know how the hybrid cars work and how mileage increases?

The cost of fuel is increasing day by day and it will increase day by day and many of us are tensed due to this as the cars are already having a low mileage and in that increasing cost of fuels are cutting our pockets. To overcome this problem many car companies had introduced a new hybrid technology in their cars.

In this technology the power is produced by two sources in the car. It has both internal combustion engine and electric motor with battery and the car runs on the both whereas if we want to run only on internal combustion than it can also be done as many of the cars gets the mode button by which we can change the modes of power. There are two types of hybrid one is series hybrid and other is parallel hybrid but many of the cars are having series hybrid only.

In series hybrid, the internal combustion engine is connected with a generator and generator is further connected to the battery and whenever the engine produces more power the generator consumes the power and sends it to the battery and whenever we apply brakes in our car the generator also uses the force of brake to produce the power by which the battery gets charged. This helps the car to get charged automatically when we are on traffic and engine is kept on. This technology is very useful while you are driving in cities, as in cities we have to apply the brakes several times.

In parallel hybrid cars, there is a transmission which is connected by both the internal combustion engine as well as the motor and further internal combustion engine is connected to fuel tank whereas motor is further connected to battery and the battery gets charged only when we apply brakes and in this system there is a microchip which decides that whether to run the car on battery or on engine Or with both. At full speed the chip takes the power from both engine as well as battery and at lower speeds or in cities and in traffic the chip uses battery to supply the power and and at medium speeds it takes the power from engine.

Both of the systems helps a lot to save the fuel and increases our car's mileage but it is best to take a series hybrid engine as it's more helpful in traffics. By using this technology many of the companies are claiming the mileage of 30-35 kmpl but the cost of the car increases as it gets the battery and a motor fitted in it. So if we are having long runs or having regular use of car then only it's profitable to us and if we are not using the car frequently than it's not much profitable.
