Kawasaki is a Japanese brand and is always known for it's power and reliability, now it has adopted a new kid in it's W family which is named as W175. The W175 has a starting price of Rs. 1.47 lakh (Ex-showroom), which seems to be one of the most affordable bike represented by Kawasaki in India. This bike can be marked as an entry point of W series in India. The W series of Kawasaki is dedicated to the retro based bikes which reminds us of past with some new changes and upgraded features.
Design of W175:
The design of the bike is very similar to old retros and looks classic enough to impress the retro lovers. Placing a huge round-shaped headlamps which is obviously not an LED and turn indicators in orange colour at front, takes you to the 90's. Brand does not loads any alloy wheels but gets a spoked wheels and a single -piece plane and ribbed seat. The fuel tank is also spherical in shape and gets a little bit of graphics pasted on it with a badging of W series.
The rear of the bike is not much complicated and looks so simple with a circular tail light and turn indicators attached to it. No grab rail and other things at rear, reminds of dirt bikes. The bike gets an analog speedometer with little digital inserts and front fork gaiters in black. It has a telescopic forks at front measuring 30mm while at rear it gets dual shock absorber of 65mm.
Engine and Braking of W175:
The W175 is powered by a 177cc single-cylinder air cooled engine that produces a maximum power of 13 bhp nad peak torque of 12.2 nm. The whole power is shifted to roads by the help of 5-speed gearbox. The bike gets a 270 mm of discs at front and drum brakes at rear. The company offers an optional single-channel ABS at front in limited numbers. Overall setup is good and you can gain an experience of riding a Kawasaki engine and if you keep it aside than nothing is special in it.
More about W175:
The brand has decided to offer this product in two colour options only. The Ebony black is offered to all the customers while one can also opt for Candy Persimmon Red, which is a Special Edition and has little bit different graphics than Ebony Black, but it costs little more than basic one. The kerb weight of the bike is 127 kg, fuel tank capacity of 13.5L, Ground clearance of 165mm and wheelbase of 1320 mm. The vehicle is good and simple, but at this price range one can consider the TVS Ronin or Royal Enfield Hunter 350 which is better in every aspects.
