Hyundai launches the new Tucson in India. Read about it in detail.
Hyundai Tucson was always been a better option in terms of practicality, space, comfort as well as performance and now Hyundai has unveiled it's all new Tucson which gets a more stunning looks and design than the previous generation Tucson. The old generation Tucson does not gives the premium feel even after paying a lot, but the new Generation Tucson is very different and offers a premium feel when you get into it. Hyundai has worked a lot on new Tucson and it was obvious as it has a competitors like Jeep Compass and Citroen C5 Aircross. The new Tucson has very edgy and futuristic design. It gets a good dark chrome front grille in which the LED DRL's are placed in such a manner that it looks as the part of the grille and this gives a very rich and premium look to the SUV.
Hyundai has launched the new Tucson at the price range of Rs 27.70 lakhs and depending on the variants it goes upto Rs 34.39 lakhs Ex-showroom. The vehicle has been offered in 5 colors i.e. Polar White, Phantom Black, Amazon Grey, Stary night and Fiery Red. The new Tucson has 8 variants to select - Platinum 2.0 AT Petrol, Signature 2.0 AT Petrol, Platinum 2.0 AT Diesel, Signature 2.0 AT Petrol Dual Tone, Signature 2.0 AT Diesel Dual Tone, Signature 2.0 AT Diesel, Signature 2.0 AT 4WD Diesel AT, Signature 2.0 AT 4WD Diesel Dual Tone(Top End).
The new Hyundai let's us to choose out of two engine options- First is 2.0 L Petrol engine which churns out the power of 154 bhp and 192 nm of peak torque with a 6-speed automatic transmission and second one is 2.0L Diesel engine which produces the power of 183 bhp and 416 nm of peak torque with a 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle comes with a massive 235/60 R18 diamond-cut alloy wheels which are taller and wider than the old one and it gets a ground clearance of 192mm which is good enough for Indian roads. The vehicle has a length of 4630mm and width of 1865mm while the height is of 1665mm which seems that vehicle is good enough in matter of space. The braking system is also enhanced with a disc brakes offered at all the 4-wheels with ABS, EBD and ESP. The McPherson struts suspension at front and multi-link suspension at rear makes the ride very comfortable by dismissing the small bumps at the road.
The Hyundai Tucson get a full LED setup at the front as well as back and very intresting thing is that the rear wiper of the car is hidden and when you start the wipers then only you can see that where are the wipers actually placed. The interiors are very well finished and gives a premium look with light grey and black colour scheme divided by a chrome lines which comes from the doors and covers the whole dashboard. If we come to features then it has a big panoramic sunroof, powered front seat with memory function, a massive 10.3 inches of touchscreen with Android Auto and apple carplay, wireless phone charging, hands-free tailgate, dual-zone auto climate control, auto headlamps, auto wipers, ADAS, Hyundai's Bluelink feature and so on which every premium SUV has, infact lot more than it's rivals.
Hyundai has placed 8 surround speakers of Bose which enables to have a good drives while listening to the songs. After this all, now if we talk about safety then it has ABS with EBD, ESC(Electronic stability control), VSM(vehicle stability control), hill assist, TPMS, downhill control, 360 degree camera, High beam assist, Lane keep assist and plenty of safety features offered. It has a 6-airbags and gets a 5-star rating from Euro NCAP in terms of safety. Overall build quality is also good with the proper thud sound of the doors while closing. The vehicle gives the mileage of 12.8 kmpl in petrol engine and 16.9 kmpl in diesel engine whereas it gets a fuel tank capacity of 54 litres.
The best thing is that Tucson has been offered with both Petrol and Diesel engine whereas Jeep compass is offered only with petrol engine and Citroen C5 Aircross is offered with only diesel engine and in Jeep Compass you will not get that much premium feel as Jeep has mainly focused on off-road capability. Jeep also does not has a good service network in India whereas Hyundai is always known for its good service network across the country. Keeping this points in mind we can say that the sales figure of Tucson can be more than it's rivals but the major factor is pricing, and Hyundai has priced a bit more than it's rivals which can be a hesitation for it's customers but the Hyundai has offered the warranty of unlimited kilometres for 3 years which is a quite good thing.
