Mahindra XUV 400| Fully electric vehicle of Mahindra.

Mahindra revealed All-new XUV 400 Electric Vehicle with 450 km of range. 

Mahindra has recently introduced the concept of electric vehicles in India based of INGLO platform, built by Mahindra. Mahindra showcased 5 electric cars which will be launched in next 5 years and the company is all set to perform best in Electric vehicles with the name Mahindra electric. The dealership and service network of Mahindra has a good presence which will help a lot in sales of company. The company has revealed it's first electric SUV XUV 400 whose test drive is going to start from December 2022.

The President of Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra limited, Vijay Nakra stated: "The company is focusing on the Electric vehicles as core because Mahindra & Mahindra has planned to get fully carbon neutral by 2040. As the carbon emission has became a major challenge for the whole world, the company has taken an initiative step by revealing their fully electric SUV, XUV 400, which is fun-to-drive." 

XUV 400 Exterior Design:

The Electric SUV XUV 400 is designed very similar to the XUV 300 and it looks like an updated version of XUV 300. XUV 400 gets a new front grille which is obviously closed and has some arrows embedded on grille with it's new Twin Peaks logo at centre done in bronze color. The vehicle gets LED Daytime Running Lamps(DRLs) placed as outline of headlamps. 

XUV 400 will be offered in five different colours- Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black and Infinity Blue while the roof rails will be Black and roof will be garnished in Bronze with Sunroof at centre. Side mirrors has been placed in Black colour and a bronze line starts from bumper goes by siding the car. 

XUV 400 has 2600 mm of wheelbase which is same offered in XUV 300 while length of the vehicle is greater than 204 mm and gets overall length of 4200 mm. The vehicle has width of 1821 mm with a boot space of 378 litres. XUV 400 rides on a silver garnished 16 inches of Diamond cut Alloy wheels.

XUV 400 Interior:

XUV 400 interiors are very similar to the XUV 300 dashboard gets a little bit of Bronze work on steering and AC vents. Twin Peaks are embedded on centre of steering at with a bronze finish. The centre of the vehicle is encoded with 7-inches of infotainment system and now it gets AdrenoX connected feature inside. Whole interior is in Black, does not gets any light or dual tone interior. 

XUV 400 powertrain and more:

The SUV is packed with a 39.4 kWh of battery pack which enables power of 150 bhp and peak torque of 310 nm at front-axle. The new XUV 400 performs way better than it's IC engine XUV 300 and it can go from 0 to 100 km/h at 8.3 seconds, which is the fastest in this segment. Vehicle has a top speed of 150 km/h.

According to Mahindra Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC), the vehicle has a range of 450 km. XUV 400 gets charged from 0 to 80 % in just 50 minutes with 50kW DC fast charger while it can take upto 6 hour 30 minutes to get charge from 0 to 100 by using 7.2 kW charger. 

In terms of features it is very similar to it's IC Engine, but it gets some new features like three drive modes and dual zone climate control AC. Vehicle gets disc brake at all 4 wheels which enhances the braking system. 6-airbags has been placed to ensure the safety of passengers. The SUV is overall good in terms of performance, looks, safety and features, only thing which can affect the sales is price which is yet to be revealed. After knowing this all, we can say that, it is going to have a good competition with Tata Nexon EV and Tata Nexon EV Max.
